Jared Mosely, DDS and Mimi Myers, RDH Receive the Perio Protect Orkos Award

Mimi Myers, RDH and Jared Mosley, DDS teamed up to receive Perio Protect's Orkos Award for excellence in case study reports in their treatment of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease (gingivitis or periodontitis). Their particular patient was a 35 year old who had avoided going to the dentist for twenty years. Myers chose to use the Perio Protect Method to treat this patient because it is non-invasive. The tray delivery of medication to the sulcus or periodontal pocket was key in this case, as the images on TheOrkosAward.com website show. The medication broke up the tartar on the teeth and allowed for easy removal at a following visit. And then the medication was able to get deeper into the periodontal pockets to kill the bacteria that were the cause of the bleeding and deep pockets associated with periodontal disease.
